HOPING FOR THAT WHICH IS NOT SEEN

Grief is indeed a personal experience of loss which translates into a lifelong process of emotions that is never “finished”. It is right to say that grief is not an illness that you recover from. Those who have experienced grief would say that grief journey is marked by agonizing pains whose intensity diminishes over time – the aftershock of grief is felt thought out a lifetime. The scar from a grief experience is permanent and can be scathed by any trigger at any moment.

To find your way through grief, you must be mentally and emotionally prepared for the mixed ball of emotions – pain, guilt, sorrow, helplessness, anxiety, rejection, loneliness, confusion, rage, fear, bitterness and several others. Grief journey is indeed a hard work and only a determination to stand firm is the way out. You must resolve not to be tied down by the spirit of grief or remain blue.

To walk through a new door of faith to your healing, the grief experience might just be the opportunity you need for a new walk with God. (Isaiah 43:18-19).

pixThe healing process begins at the point of acceptance of your loss and the “willingness” to “let go” of the loved one that passed on. It is at this post in time that the loved one becomes a Memory and the memory becomes a Treasure. this can span several months or years- as grief journey is unique to every individual.

You might want to be reminded that in this journey, you cannot rely on other people to say the right words or to provide the right comfort  needed. Therefore learn to trust your Maker, especially at this time when you do not and cannot understand what has happened to you..

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal”

Shalom.
